Firefighters from multiple cities battled Ahwatukee apartment fire: Phoenix FD
PHOENIX - Phoenix Fire officials say crews from multiple cities were at the scene of an apartment fire in Ahwatukee.
What we know:
Per a post made to X (formerly Twitter), the fire is burning in the area of 48th Street and Warner Road.
An accompanying video posted by fire officials show flames shooting out of one of the apartment buildings.
Timeline:
Phoenix Fire Captain Todd Keller, who was at the scene, said firefighters were sent to the area at around 3:00 p.m., following reports of a fire.
Cpt. Keller said when crews arrived at the scene, they saw heavy fire and smoke coming from the first floor of a two-story apartment building.
Fire crews from Phoenix, as well as crews in Chandler and Tempe, were involved in the firefighting efforts.

"As crews made entry, they found that this fire had worked its way into the attic, and spread to an adjacent apartment complex" Cpt. Keller said. "Crews were able to continue to fight this. Eventually, this got to a second-alarm [fire] due to the size of the complex, and the potential of the fire."

Phoenix Fire officials said the fire involved multiple units, and 11 people were displaced. No injuries to firefighters and civilians were reported.
