MCSO: Arrest made in shooting near Queen Creek Walmart
QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- MCSO officials say an arrest has been made in the case of a drive-by shooting that happened on March 12 in the parking lot of a Queen Creek Walmart store.
According to a statement released Friday, 27-year-old Jeremy Ray Ford was arrested and booked into the 4th Avenue Jail late Thursday night. The Florence man has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, and a felony count of drive-by shooting.
MCSO officials say they received multiple 911 calls about a shooting that had taken place in the Walmart parking lot, located at the 21000 block of Rittenhouse Road at around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a victim who was shot multiple times. That person was later taken to Chandler Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries. That victim has since been listed in stable condition.
Video evidence and physical evidence from the scene later matched with Ford, according to MCSO. In an interview with detectives, Ford admitted to shooting the victim.
