PD: 2 dead following crash along McDowell Road

PHOENIX (FOX 10) -- Phoenix Police say two people have died following a crash involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of 52nd Street and McDowell Road Monday night.

Police say they were responding to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle in the intersection when a second collision occurred. A Toyota Camry turned left in front of a Mercedes and the two collided. The Mercedes then continued onto the sidewalk and hit two pedestrians.

In all, five people were injured, with four of them being taken to local trauma centers. Police say the two female pedestrians involved, 46-year-old Deqa Osman and 36-year-old Jane Hurley, died.

According to investigators, the driver of the Camry stayed on the scene and showed no signs of impairment. The investigation is ongoing.
