Pedestrian killed while crossing Phoenix street

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Police say an adult male pedestrian was crossing the road when he was hit and killed early Wednesday morning near 27th Avenue and Camelback.

The intersection is closed in all directions. Those exiting Interstate 17 at Camelback road won't be able to go westbound. The Arizona Department of Transportation stated on Twitter to consider Bethany Home Road or Indian School Road as options during the morning commute.

The deceased's name has not been released.

Police say their investigation continues. At this point, they're not saying this case is a hit and run since the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene.
