PHOENIX (FOX 10) - A Phoenix man is being held without bond after police say he stabbed his father to death.
25-year-old Erik Garcia was arrested after his father's decomposing remains were found a week later.
Clemente Garcia was found dead in his home during a welfare check. Police were notified after a local postal carrier noticed mail piling up at the Garcia home.
"When I came back, he had like two days worth of mail in the mailbox," said Nick Aragon, a mail carrier. "And that's totally unlike him. So, as the week progressed, the mail never got picked up. So I kept trying to get his attention. You know, knocking on the door, calling out his name and stuff."
Investigators say there is a history of domestic violence between Erik and his father.
