Phoenix police: 9-year-old girl dies after SUV-truck crash

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Police say a 9-year-old child has died following a crash between a dump truck and SUV in Phoenix on Monday morning near 51st Avenue and Broadway.

Per Sgt. Vince Lewis, 9-year-old Joslyn Bayman was wearing her seatbelt. The other child in the vehicle, her 7-year-old brother, was also wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision. He remains in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV, a 32-year-old woman, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say the driver of the dump truck remained at the scene of the crash and there were no signs of impairment.
