Prisoner with murder warrants captured after escaping custody in Texas

CONROE, Texas (FOX 26) - With help from several other law enforcement agencies, the Conroe Police Department has taken Cedric Joseph Marks into custody. Marks, 44, had escaped from the custody of Texas Prisoner Transport Services. He was being transferred from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The U.S. Marshals Service had captured Marks for a warrant for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony. Texas Prisoner Transport Services was taking Marks to Bell County in Texas. Marks also has warrants for the murders of Michael Swearingen, 32, and Jenna Scott, 28, in an investigation that began in Temple, Texas in January.
