The search for missing Christine Mustafa continues, as 30 searchers look through a landfill.
Mustafa went missing back in May. Now, it is week two of searching for her remains in the SR 85 Landfill. Mustafa's boyfriend, Robert Interval is behind bars. charged with Mustafa's murder, and the investigation continues.
Searchers have already gone through 1,600 tons of debris in just the first week, and the search is set for nine weeks. Phoenix's police chief said Friday that she's hopeful that they will find something soon.
"I am so hopeful and I am so prayerful and to be honest, I'm a mom, I'm a wife, Christine was a wife. She was a mom who wouldn't want to search for someone like that who was a good person," said Police Chief Jeri Williams, who went on to say that the searchers are all volunteers, and despite the heat and labor, they continue to give their best in hopes of finding her.
