Several big events hosted in the valley this month

It is always one of the biggest events in the valley this month, the Barrett Jackson Auto Show in Scottsdale.

This year's auction was extended to 10 total days just to accommodate Arizona car collector Ron Pratte's personal collection of over 140 vehicles. His collection, plus a few cars from some beloved TV shows are expected to draw over 200,000 people to Westworld this week.

Whether your dream car is a classic Cadillac, a 1929 Rolls Royce Phantom or a 1989 Ferrari you're sure to find it among the 1,600+ vehicles at this year's Barrett Jackson Collector Car Auction.

"I think it's very well run, and I'm a Shelby guy," said one attendee.

As are many collectors this year, they'll fiercely bid for this 1966 Shelby Cobra Super Snake, the only one of its kind in the world. It's part of Ron Pratte's private collection and was once owned by creator Carroll Shelby himself.

Other bidders are looking at a 1955 Pontiac Star Chief convertible. It appeared almost a dozen times on the "I Love Lucy" television show. Or they may be interested in a converted 1922 Oldsmobile created for the "Beverly Hillbillies" show.

The Barrett Jackson Auction auction is just one of several events happening in January leading up to the Super Bowl.

Over the next three weeks, the valley is host to the P.F. Chang's Rock and Roll Marathon, Pro Bowl, and The PGA tournament at the TPC.
