Special needs teenager crashes van into house

Police are investigating an incident where a special needs teenager crashed into a home.

Officers say the 16-year-old boy took a van from the home where he lives and wound up going on a joy ride. They say the teen plowed through several yards and crashed through a neighbor's gate. He ultimately crashed the full-size van into a pillar supporting the garage, spinning around 180 degrees. Police say the boy suffered minor injuries.

Fire crews say the boy was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. The house turned out to be vacant. Police are now investigating whether the teen may face any punishment.
