Hodge resigns as sexual misconduct report resurfaces

A member of the state House appointed to the seat just two months ago has resigned after a years-old sexual misconduct report resurfaced. Democrat Jevin Hodge stepped down following a report published by the Arizona Republic on March 18. The report detailed an alleged sexual encounter from 2015 when Hodge was 21 and still in college. He was accused of violating sexual violence and abuse standards and was suspended from the school for a month.

AZ independents can't vote in today's PPE

Phoenix Councilwoman Yassamin Ansari resigning

Phoenix City Councilwoman Yassamin Ansari is resigning from her positions so she can officially run for Congress. Ansari represents District 7, which includes parts of downtown and southwest Phoenix. Her last day is on March 28. Ansari is running for the U.S. House seat being left vacant by Congressman Ruben Gallego, who is running to replace Kyrsten Sinema.

Arizona's Presidential Preference Election is days away

Arizona voters head to the polls this Tuesday for the state's Presidential Preference Election on March 19. Only registered Republicans and Democrats can cast a ballot. If you received an early ballot, you'll need to use a drop box as the mail-in deadline has passed.

Kari Lake filing her nominating petitions

Kari Lake is making her U.S. Senate bid 100% official by filing her nominating petitions. Lake plans to submit the signatures to the Arizona Secretary of State Office on March 15. Lake is running for the Republican nomination for the seat currently held by Independent Krysten Sinema, who is not running for re-election. Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb is also running for GOP nomination. Congressman Ruben Gallego is running for the Democratic nomination.

Man sentenced for threatening AZ election office

A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to three years and six months in federal prison for making an online threat to bomb then-Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs? election office in February 2021, the U.S. Justice Department said.
