Coconino National Forest to lift all fire restrictions and closures on Wednesday
COCONINO NATIONAL FOREST, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Officials with the Coconino National Forest announced Monday that all fire restrictions and area closures will be lifted at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11.
According to a statement, the decision was made due to recent increase in moisture and humidity, as well as decreasing fire danger across the entire forest and a forecast of more rain over the next seven to 10 days, with one to two inches of rain accumulation predicted during the period.
Coconino National Forest entered State 2 fire restrictions of May 4, and area closures were implemented in some parts of the forest on May 23.
All campgrounds, according to officials, will be open, but some will require reservations, and may temporarily have limited water and other services.
