2 girls hit by suspected drunk driver while pushing disabled vehicle
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Two girls were seriously injured when they were struck by a suspected drunk driver while pushing a disabled vehicle of the road.
Phoenix police say the girls were pushing the disabled vehicle off the road near Interstate 17 and Cactus Road at about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night when the suspected drunk driver smashed right into them.
The girls were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but they are expected to survive.
The suspected drunk driver was also taken to the hospital and police have not announced any charges.
Due to the investigation, eastbound Cactus Road is closed from I-17 to 28th Avenue.
