Police say they arrested an underage man after he collided with another vehicle near 67th Avenue and Van Buren on Monday morning. Four people were injured and taken to a hospital as a result.
When Phoenix Fire crews arrived at the scene, they began cutting trapped people out of a vehicle.
Witnesses say the SUV was turning left when a car sped through the intersection and crashed into it.
A man, woman and 3-year-old girl were driving in the SUV. Authorities say the child was thrown out of the vehicle after it rolled three times. Two people were in the second vehicle.
Three people with life threatening injuries were transported to a hospital.
According to police, the man is under 16-years-old and appears to have been impaired. He was taken into custody.
The intersection was closed while police investigated.
