Armys battalion returning to Fort Huachuca after deployment

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - A U.S. Army communications unit is returning to its base in southern Arizona after being deployed overseas.

The 40th Expeditionary Signal Battalion was scheduled to arrive late Wednesday night at Libby Army Airfield at Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista.

The battalions 300 soldiers will then be bused to Barnes Field House to reunite with family members.

Base officials say the battalion provided communications support to units in Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

The unit deployed last May.
