Broccoli sprouts recalled over salmonella exposure

A recall was issued for a broccoli sprout product recalled due to salmonella exposure.

EAK Distribution LLC based in Wyoming was notified that salmonella was detected in the broccoli seed sample that was collected and examined by the Food and Drug Administration.

FDA officials said no illnesses have been reported from use of the item and explained that the seeds were identified as being used by a sprout grower whose finished product was part of a federal health investigation tied to a multistate food borne illness outbreak.

The recall affects Home Grown Green Sprouting Calabrese Broccoli Seeds, 8 oz, Heirloom which were sold on Amazon.com nationwide between Aug. 20, 2026, and Sept. 18, 2026. 

According to the Food and Drug Administration, the goods come in a cream-colored pouch with the UPC code 850056627443.

Is a refund available for the recalled broccoli sprout seeds?

What you can do:

FDA officials say consumers who bought the broccoli sprout seeds are urged not to use the product and should contact Amazon to receive a refund.
