Camden Police Investigate Video Showing Beating of Alleged Pregnant Woman
CAMDEN, NJ (WTXF) The viral video of an alleged pregnant woman being beaten in Camden, New Jersey, has sparked outrage across the country. FOX 29 found out that the video shows just a small portion of what happened and some say that calling her a victim may be misplaced.
Sources close to the investigation told us that they do not believe that the woman seen being beaten in the video is pregnant. They also told us that the women seen beating the woman in the video had been threatened by a group that drove to Camden to confront them. According to sources, they were sprayed by mace and finally had been warned that the woman seen in the video was going back to her car to get a gun.
One of the women involved in the video told FOX 29 that what's being called a beating was really a group of women defending themselves against someone who came to their neighborhood armed and looking for a fight. She also told FOX 29 that the viral video, in her opinion, being shown out of context has led to some serious issues for the women involved.
Again, sources told FOX 29 that no one was seriously injured and treated only for minor cuts and scratches. FOX 29 is told as of the moment there are no charges pending and all of the women involved have come forward and are cooperating, except for the woman being beaten in the video, police would still like to speak with her.
