Chrysler recalling over 200K Jeep SUV for a tire pressure issue

A recall has been issued for 201,976 Jeep SUVs over a tire pressure problem.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration officials stated that, based on a software error, the tire pressure monitoring system might not detect low tire pressure and/or fail to display the tire pressure monitoring system light when needed.
When the tire pressure monitoring warning system light fails to notify the driver of low tire pressure increases the risk of a crash.

The impacted SUVs don’t meet the federal safety standards for a tire pressure monitoring system, officials added.

Are repairs available for the recalled Jeep SUVs?
What you can do:
Owners of the recalled Jeep vehicles can take them to their local dealership to receive an update to the radio frequency hub software for free.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, owner notification letters will be mailed starting on Sept. 29.
