Woman killed in I-17 multi-car crash, 2 others hurt
Crash on I-17 in Phoenix kills at least one person
Southbound I-17 was temporarily closed for hours on the afternoon of Dec. 16 following a deadly, multi-vehicle crash in Phoenix.
PHOENIX - One person was killed in a multi-car crash on I-17 southbound in Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon.
What we know:
The crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 16 beneath the Camelback Road overpass.
"The incident involved several vehicles, including a commercial car hauler, and resulted in serious injuries," the Arizona Department of Public Safety said. At least one person has died.
DPS says 76-year-old Pamela Hoffman, who was riding as a passenger in one of the vehicles, died. Two other people remain hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Traffic lanes were closed for hours but at around 3:45 p.m., they reopened.
