Dad, daughter rescued from Four Peaks trail
Rescue crews worked for hours to rescue a father and his 25-year-old daughter from a trail on Four Peaks mountain on Thursday morning.
The pair had gotten stuck on Wednesday night after the father had some kind of medical issue at the top.
Due to the wind, responders were unable to get them down by helicopter. A medical crew was brought in to wrap them in thermal blankets and wait with them overnight.
Rescue crews went back into the rugged area the following morning.
Crews rappelled down the mountain for hours to bring them both to safety. First responders had to make some precarious moves during the rescue.
The National Guard's Blackhawk helicopter was eventually called in to get the father and his daughter down. An ambulance was waiting to take them to a hospital.
The two are reportedly doing okay.
