DPS: man jumped out of moving ambulance onto freeway

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Arizona DPS troopers are investigating a bizarre accident on the westbound Loop 101 to the I-17 ramp.

Officials say a patient jumped out of a moving SouthWest ambulance and rolled onto the freeway.

Troopers say the victim was being taken from Tucson to John C Lincoln Hospital. The patient was found breathing and was rushed to an area hospital.

The ramp for the 101 to I-17 remains closed while authorities investigate.
