Election day across Arizona

It was election day for several cities in Arizona.

Democrat incumbent Mayor Greg Stanton in early results has won a re-election against Republican Anna Brennan and Independent Matt Jette.

In addition to the mayor, there are also city council member votes in districts one, three, five and seven.

In Phoenix District 1, Thelda Williams won unopposed.
In Phoenix District 3, Bill Gates won unopposed.
In Phoenix District 5, Daniel Valenzuela won over Felix Garcia.
In Phoenix District 7, Michael Nowakowski won unopposed.

There are four ballot measures, most notably, Proposition 104, which is a $31 billion transportation plan that includes expanding the city's light rail line. In early results it appears to have passed 55% to 45%

While many say the expansion is needed as the city grows, others feel that it comes at a big expense to tax payers, with little pay off since a small number of people actually use the light rail.

The Mayor's seat in Prescott is up for grabs, Dan Fraijo and Harry Oberg are each hoping to be the next mayor. The current mayor, Marlin Kuykendall is not seeking reelection.
