Flames sweep through attic, displacing family

PHOENIX - A family escaped a burning home near 2nd Avenue and Desert Lane in Phoenix on Sunday morning.

Phoenix Fire crews say a caller phoned 911 saying flames were visible shooting out of the home. When fire crews arrived, they put in place an offensive strategy to put out the flames.

Flames did sweep through the attic, causing substantial damage. There were no injuries, but the family will need to find a new place to stay.
