Flight diverted due to odor returns to PHL, 3 hospitalized
NORTH CAROLINA (WTXF) - Two passengers and a crew member are in the hospital Thursday morning after a Philadelphia bound flight was diverted due to an unknown odor in the cabin. That flight finally made its way back to Philadelphia.
Frontier Airlines Flight 1674 took off from Orlando around 6 p.m. Wednesday before it was forced to land safely without incident in Raleigh/Durham with 230 passengers and seven crew member on board.
Two passengers and one crew member were taken to the hospital after landing. One of those who fell ill was a child.
A new plane was dispatched to continue the flight to Philadelphia and arrived early Thursday morning.
FOX 29 spoke with passengers who were on the plane, and most said they didn't smell anything, but were happy the airline took precautions.
A spokesperson for Frontier Airlines says those who were hospitalized felt ill and were evaluated for a non-life threatening illness.
