GoFundMe page set up for Chino Valley police officer's baby

He serves and protects his community, but now an Arizona police officer needs your help as his baby girl recovers from surgery.

We talked to the officer briefly as we didn't want to keep him away from his baby girl's side. He says right now, all they need is prayers.

Stephen Farmer tells us at about 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, he and his wife thought their 1-year-old daughter Gabrielle had the flu, but then they noticed blood in her diaper, so they immediately took her to an emergency room in Prescott Valley where they discovered that her intestines and stomach had inverted. She was then airlifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Farmer says it is hard to keep it together, but he needs to be strong for Gabrielle, their other daughter, who is 4 years old, and his wife.

"Very emotional, very emotional.. they have been very helpful," he said. "Very surprised.. coworkers helped me out. I didn't expect any help.. amazing people who I didn't even know.. reach out there are help you out."

Gabrielle needed an expensive emergency surgery and now the family needs help with her medical expenses.

Officer Farmer says it's been tough seeing his daughter in pain.

Gabrielle is dealing with some bad swelling and is unfortunately in a lot of pain. Doctors put a pick line in so she can receive more medicine.

If you'd like to help the family, friends of the Farmers have set up a GoFundMe page to assist with the medical costs: https://www.gofundme.com/2jjydrw
