High-speed chase winds through Baltimore, 2 arrested

(AP) -- A high-speed chase that wound through streets of Baltimore for at least 20 minutes has ended in the arrest of two men.

Live helicopter shots from WJZ-TV showed a gray sedan swerving between cars on narrow streets and residential blocks of West Baltimore. Numerous police cruisers traveled behind.

The suspect's car sped Friday through traffic lights, narrowly missing pedestrians and clipping at least one vehicle.

A police officer ran full-throttle to the car when it finally came to a stop at an intersection. The officer pulled the driver out and wrestled him to the ground.

T.J. Smith is the chief spokesman for the Baltimore Police Department. He has tweeted that officers were in pursuit of a shooting suspect.

WJZ-TV reports a passenger in the car was also arrested.
