Interstate 17 northbound re-opens at New River

Interstate 17 northbound was closed at New River Road due to a hazmat situation on Monday morning.

Just before 10:30 a.m., the Arizona Department of Transportation announced that the highway had re-opened, but traffic was still backed up south of Anthem Way.

Drivers may consider delaying travel or using an alternate route.
