People filled West Hunter Street Baptist Church on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard, where searches were held 40 years ago to find the missing and murdered children.

Between 1979 and 1981, more than 28 people, mostly children, were found dead or declared missing. Wayne Williams was convicted of the murders of two adults and tied to ten of the murders in court.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard promised a meeting with victims' family members, the police chief and the mayor to review the evidence.

His office also plans on submitting collected evidence from across metro Atlanta jurisdictions to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.

Howard promised the public an update on the investigations within 90 days.
