Made in Arizona: One13's CBD oil topical pain relief lotion

PHOENIX (FOX 10) -- When it comes to pain, we often turn to over-the-counter medication for help. In severe cases, stronger medications are prescribed by a doctor.

But what if you could use something organic, in the form of a topical lotion? That's exactly what One13, an Arizona company, is trying to do with CBD oil, which is growing in popularity. They're manufacturing it and targeting the product to athletes.

"Everything gets packed up, it's all itemized and every order is separated," said Evan Masingill, chief marketing officer of One13.

Sealed, stacked and shipped from Phoenix.

Health professionals near and far are buying up One13's topical CBD lotion to put on office shelves for patients.

"12 bottles in every package with one tester included in every single one," said Masingill.

It's a fairly new topical pain reliever, made with Cannabidiol, extracted from the hemp plant.

"We just launched One13 about six, seven months ago," said Trisha Lucy, director of trade relations. "There's 113 phytochemical compounds in the plant and so we named it One13 as more of a nod to the plant."

No, it doesn't produce a positive drug test result and no, it won't make you high. That might be why CBD is becoming increasingly popular among athletes.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), even removed CBD from its list of banned substances at the start of 2018.

"I think they are going for something that is healthier. Our product is organic," said Lucy. "Ours is a hemp-derived CBD product, which contains literally no THC."

Lucy says this product will reduce inflammation and relieve your aches and pains. It doesn't leave any residue behind like some lotions do, there's no odor and it's instantly absorbed into the skin.

"You can apply One13 multiple times a day, depending on your pain level."
