Major Phoenix intersection back open after deadly crash

One person was killed in a crash overnight, causing a major Phoenix intersection to be shut down overnight.

Phoenix Fire crews responded to a single-vehicle crash at the corner of 32nd Street and McDowell at about 1:30 a.m. after receiving reports of the accident.

One person was killed at the scene, according to Phoenix Fire Department. A spokesperson for Phoenix Police says the driver was speeding, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed. The driver who was killed was a 24-year-old man, according to officers.

Streets in the area where shut down while police investigated, and the area re-opened at about 6 a.m.
