Man arrested after hitting two boys with car on Tuesday

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A man has been arrested and charged with assault after hitting two boys with his car on Tuesday.

Police say Carlos Pedregon is facing two counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated DUI after hitting two 12-year-old boys, who were walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of 75th Avenue and Thomas on Tuesday morning.

Pedregon has also been charged with two counts of endangerment because he was driving his car with two other children inside.

Officers say Pedregon failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and hit the boys.

The two boys were taken to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive.
