Man arrested in Pinal County for impersonating an officer

FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - A man has been arrested in Pinal County for impersonating an officer using a vehicle equipped with LED lights, a siren and a PA system.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office said Saturday that 19-year-old Michael Montano, of San Tan Valley, is facing charges of impersonating a peace officer and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Sheriff's spokesman Tim Gaffney says Montano was allegedly driving a Ford Focus and attempting to make traffic stops Friday.

Gaffney says someone reported Montano after seeing his car had a temporary registration.

Montano was concealing a 9 mm handgun under his shirt and allegedly showed it to the witness who questioned him.

Sheriff Paul Babeu says investigators are looking for anyone who may have been pulled over by Montano.
