Man found dead in Mesa hotel parking lot identified by police

MESA, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police in Mesa say a dead body has been found in a hotel parking lot near Dobson Road and the US 60.

They say officers responded to a Ramada Inn on the 1600 block of S. Dobson for a welfare check on Thursday morning. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man dead in the parking lot.

Detectives are treating the scene as a suspicious case and a possible homicide. Late Thursday afternoon, Police identified the victim as Austin Parton, 32.

Police did not release any information on how Parton may have died. An investigation is ongoing.
