Police say a man shot and killed his neighbor because "voices" told him to do it.

Glendale Police say 27-year-old Michael Mitchell was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his 29-year-old neighbor.

When officers arrived at the apartment just after 7 a.m., on Sunday, officers found the victim with a gunshot wound.

He was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Police say Mitchell confessed to the shooting and told officers that "voices" told him to shoot his neighbor.

Officers say both men were involved in an argument, and at some point a weapon was pulled out and shots were fired.
