Man shot and killed during botched robbery attempt
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A man was shot and killed after his partner's gun went off right before the two planned to rob a home over the weekend.
Police say Eric Hernandez-Tellez was shot and killed by 21-year-old Jose Perez-Torres outside of a home near 15th Avenue and Camelback. The two were allegedly planning to rob the home, but Perez-Torres stumbled and his gun went off and shot Hernandez-Tellez.
Police tracked down Perez-Torres in Tempe and arrested him.
He was booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and other charges related to outstanding warrants.
