MCSO dive teams resume search for missing man at Lake Pleasant

The search continues for a boater who disappeared while out on Lake Pleasant over the weekend.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Lake Patrol is searching for Chintan Shah in several locations by using a robot and sonar technology to try to spot any sign of the missing 24-year-old man.

Meanwhile, his family can only wait.

"Well, Chintan was a medical student, graduated from St. Louis University with a biomedical engineering degree," said Anant Shah, Chintan's father. "He is very energetic, outgoing and smart individual."

What makes this situation even more mystifying is friends and family describe Chintan as a very athletic young man, a marathoner and an excellent swimmer.

The family is hoping the high-tech search provides an answer.

"Yeah, they have sonars and robots right now going through underwater.. identified six spots where they have identified images.. they hope those images will get them closer to where they need to be," said Anant.
