More recess time? Parents at Chandler Elementary want a break for kids
CHANDLER, Ariz. - Recess or no recess? Kids need time to burn some energy at school and parents at Fulton Elementary say their children aren't getting enough recess time. So now they're taking action and asking the school to give their kids more time outside.
Children in grades 3 through 6 at the school only get one 20-minute outdoor break after their lunch period.
Parents are asking the school's principal for at least one more 20-minute recess during the day. They also have a petition with 116 signatures in favor of more recess.
A survey will be sent out to parents on the issue and the school will then make a decision.
