NAU football player killed while vacationing

A Northern Arizona University football player has died while vacationing with his family in Alaska.

There has been a huge outpouring of support for 22-year-old Michael DeGroote, online and through social media.

Police in Alaska are investigating what led up to DeGroote being shot and killed.

DeGroote's family says this is a tragic accident.

FOX 10's Jessica Flores spoke with the family and has this report.
