Officer critically injured in shooting, suspect dead

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - SkyFox video shows police surrounding a home near the shooting scene where a dark colored van has a back window shot out. A tactical team searched the vehicle and found the suspect dead.

Late Wednesday afternoon Chief Yahner gave an update; the injured officer is a 12 year veteran with the department, is 35-years-old, and has a wife and two young children.

"He is in extremely critical condition... he is fighting for his life," said Chief Joe Yahner.

Phoenix Police sent a helicopter to bring the injured family to the hospital. Over 200 officers were seen inside or outside the hospital where the officer was taken.
