PD: Man dead, woman and child critical following crash near 60th Dr. and Thomas Rd.

PHOENIX, Ariz. (FOX 10) - Phoenix Police are investigating a deadly accident near 60th Drive and Thomas Road Saturday morning.

Police say a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling westbound on Thomas Rd. near 60th Dr., when it veered into the eastbound lanes and collided with a Chevrolet Suburban.

Police say the driver of the Pathfinder, Rodolfo Gaitan Jr., 27, was pronounced dead on the scene. His two passengers, a 28-year-old woman and a young girl were taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition. The driver of the Suburban, a 60-year-old man, received serious but non life-threatening injuries. His passengers were not injured.

Investigators are unsure if impairment was a factor at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
