PD: Man hit, killed by jeep in Phoenix

PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Phoenix Police are investigating a deadly crash involving a pedestrian.

Police say the incident happened near North 7th Street and East Hatcher Road Friday night. Thomas Wygant, 33, was crossing the roadway mid-block when he was hit by a Jeep Wrangler. He later died at the hospital.

Investigators don't believe speed or impairment played a factor. The 23-year-old driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with officers.

The investigation is ongoing.
