PD: Man shot and killed after threatening women

PHOENIX, Ariz. (FOX 10) - Phoenix Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed Saturday night.

The shooting happened near 24th Avenue and Thomas.

Police say two women were confronted by a 38-year-old man who was an estranged boyfriend of one of the women. He had a knife and threatened the women.

Then an unknown suspect intervened to help the women. Police say the two men got into an altercation resulting in the suspect shooting the 38-year-old man.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police said the suspect fled the scene and has not been identified.
