Shelter-in-place order lifted after Phoenix police investigate 'item of concern'

PHOENIX - A police investigation near 5th Street and Bethany Home Road temporarily triggered a shelter-in-place order for businesses and a school in the area.

Authorities were investigating an "item of concern" but eventually determined that the object wasn't a danger to the community.

Bethany Home Road has reopened, and the shetler-in-place order has been lifted for the businesses in the area.

Police did not say what the item was.
