Phoenix Police looking for man who robbed bank using a simulated explosive device
PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- Phoenix police are looking for a man who they say robbed a US Bank Thursday afternoon.
According to a statement released Thursday night, the incident happened at a US Bank inside a Safeway store on the 5000 block of W. Baseline. The suspect, described as a white man in his 50s, robbed the bank using a simulated explosive device. The suspect later fled on foot, leaving the device behind.
Police say the supermarket, along with the bank, were evacuated, and the Bomb Squad later determined the device was not explosive.
