Phoenix police officer injured after gun accidentally fires

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A Phoenix police officer was injured after his gun accidentally went off and shot him on Friday.

The off-duty officer was helping a neighbor jump start a car near 47th Avenue and Union Hills, and when the officer adjusted his waist band, the gun went off.

The officer suffered minor injuries.
