Police clear scene after suspicious package investigation near Russian Embassy in Northwest D.C.

An area under investigation by police for an unattended suspicious package has been cleared, according to officials.

The heavy police presence in Northwest D.C. caused concern for residents while police were investigating near the Russian Embassy on Sunday.

Roads at the 2600 block of Wisconsin Avenue are now open after heavy police, fire EMS and U.S. Secret Service activity.

Officials with the U.S. Secret Service say the activity had been centered at the Sherry Hall building at 2702 Wisconsin Ave.
