AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say a construction worker and a teenager have been shot and wounded at a vacant home in Avondale.

Avondale police say two construction workers arrived to work at the home around noon Friday.

The workers reportedly found three teenagers inside the home and planned to call police.

One of the teens pulled out a gun and a struggle ensued.

During the struggle, police say the gun went off twice.

They say a construction worker suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach and a 15-year-old boy suffered a wound to one of his hands.

Both were taken to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.

Police have detained the other two teens -- a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy -- for questioning.
