Police investigating double murder in Scottsdale; suspect at large
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Scottsdale Police officials say they are investigating a double murder Friday afternoon.
The shooting reportedly took place in the area of 1st Street and 75th Street, near Civic Center Library. According to Scottsdale Police, officers responded to a shooting call in the area at around 2:15 p.m., and when officers arrived, they found an adult female victim with a gunshot wound to the head. The woman reportedly walked to a bus that was parked in the intersection to ask for help. That woman was taken to the hospital by Scottsdale firefighters, and later died.
Officers, according to Scottsdale Police, later followed a blood trail to a business east on 1st Street, and once they were inside the business, they found a second adult female victim dead from a gunshot wound. Sgt. Hoster said late Friday afternoon they do not believe the shooting is random, and they are ruling out a murder suicide. A shooter is at large, Sgt. Hoster said.
A woman who was at the scene described what she saw to FOX 10's Stefania Okolie.
