Police: Man, woman rob 7-Eleven of cigarettes; threaten employees with hammer

Police are looking for two people they say robbed a D.C. convenience store of cigarettes and threatened employees behind the counter with a hammer.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday at a 7-Eleven store on the 200 block of Cedar Street in the northwest.

Surveillance video shows two suspects, a man and woman, enter the store and take cigarettes from behind the counter.

On one point and employee enters an office area and returns with a hammer to confront the suspects. During a struggle, the hammer is taken by the female suspect who can be seen trying to strike an employee.

Both suspects fled the store with cigarettes, police say.
