Police seek suspect in connection to north Phoenix shooting

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Police are looking for a man in connection to a shooting in north Phoenix that left a woman in extremely critical condition.

Phoenix police are looking for 19-year-old Maleqe Thompson in connection to the shooting near Desert Cove Avenue and Cave Creek Road on Thursday. Officer responded to an apartment complex in the area and found a woman in her 40s suffering from a gunshot wound.

The suspect was seen leaving the scene over a perimeter wall and is on the loose. Investigators say Thompson and the victim were recently involved in a romantic relationship.

Thompson is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
